Depending on the service requested, individual persons are partly or wholly within the scope of the processing covered by this privacy notice. The categories of data subjects include:
In what follows, data subjects are also referred to collectively as "users".
The purposes of processing personal data include:
The legal basis for processing personal data in Switzerland is Articles 4 et seq., Article 12 and Article 13 FADP. Personal data is processed in the context of our interests in running our business processes and providing targeted information to potential customers. This includes the regular use of cookies, which let us show users content relevant to them. We also process information provided by users on the basis of our interest in spam detection.
Consent is obtained for purposes including newsletter sending. When you contact us (e.g. via contact form, e-mail, phone or social media) we process the information you provide in order to handle the request. In rare cases we process personal data to comply with our statutory obligations.
The data subject's personal data is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies or storage is no longer required. Personal data is also retained for the period during which claims may be asserted against our company.
Storage may continue when regulations, laws or other rules require a longer retention period. Such evidence and retention obligations arise — among others — from the Swiss Code of Obligations and generally amount to ten years. Storage of personal usage data and cookies (including IP addresses) is limited to the period required to fulfil the purpose.
In most cases your personal data is processed only within Switzerland and the EU. Where data is processed outside the EU, transfers happen in line with the legal requirements of Article 6 FADP. That means processing relies, for example, on specific guarantees such as an officially recognised finding that the recipient country offers a level of data protection equivalent to that of the EU or Switzerland, or compliance with officially recognised contractual obligations (the so-called "Standard Contractual Clauses").
Countries to which we transfer data include:
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files stored in the user's browser or by the browser on the user's device. When you visit a website, a cookie may be stored on your device. The cookie contains a characteristic string that uniquely identifies the browser when the site is visited again. We use cookies to make our service more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies also let our systems recognise your browser after a page change so we can offer you services. Some features of our website cannot be offered without cookies. For these, the browser must be re-identifiable after a page change.
The Cookie Directive (European Directive 2009/136/EC) does not apply. Article 45c lit. b of the Swiss Telecommunications Act does apply.
Processing is based on our interest in the purposes mentioned above. The data collected this way is pseudonymised through technical measures. It is therefore not possible to attribute the data directly to your person. The data is not stored together with other personal data of yours.
You have the right to object to the processing of personal data relating to you. Cookies are stored on your computer, so you have full control over how they are used. By configuring your browser appropriately you can prevent the storage of cookies and the transmission of the data they contain. Cookies already stored can be deleted at any time. Note, however, that in this case you may no longer be able to use all features of this website to their full extent.
The following links explain how to manage (and disable) cookies in the major browsers:
With every access to our website, your browser transmits usage data which is stored in log files (server log files). The data stored includes, for example, the name of the page accessed, the date and time of access, the volume of data transferred, the requesting provider and IP addresses. This data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest and serves solely to ensure the smooth operation of our website and to improve our service.
When you use the contact form we only collect the personal data (name, e-mail address, message text) that you provide. We process this data to handle the enquiry and to start a contractual relationship. Processing serves our interest in efficient communication. We use your e-mail address to handle your enquiry and the subsequent execution of contractual services.
On our website we use the "Google tag" (gtag.js) provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). We use it to measure the success of our advertising (Google Ads) and to analyse the use of our website for marketing and statistical purposes. The controller for the related processing is Google Ireland Limited; data may be transferred onward to Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Ads – conversion tracking and remarketing: On this website the Google tag runs exclusively with a Google Ads conversion ID (AW-…). It records whether you reached our website via one of our ads and whether you then carry out a predefined action (e.g. submitting a form). In particular, it processes your truncated IP address, online identifiers and cookie information, the "gclid" click identifier, and details about your browser, device and behaviour on the website. This information is used to measure the success of our advertising and may be used for remarketing.
Google Analytics (linked via Google Ads): We do not run a separate Google Analytics tag (G-…) on the website. However, by linking our Google Ads account with Google Analytics and through the "Google signals" feature, the data collected via the Google tag may be combined in a linked Google Analytics property (GA4) and – provided you have enabled personalised advertising in your Google account – analysed across devices and enriched with demographic characteristics and interests. This analysis serves to measure reach and advertising success and to build audiences.
Processing is based on our legitimate interest in a needs-based design, the economic operation and the performance measurement of our online advertising (Article 31 FADP). The data collected is pseudonymised through technical measures; we do not directly attribute it to your person. Where consent is required for the use of these services, processing takes place only on that basis; you can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Disclosure abroad: In the context of these services, personal data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. The transfer is based on the requirements of Article 16 et seq. FADP. Google LLC is certified under the "Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework"; for organisations certified under it, Switzerland (Federal Council, Annex 1 to the Data Protection Ordinance) recognises an adequate level of data protection. Standard Contractual Clauses additionally serve as an appropriate safeguard.
Retention period: Cookies set in connection with Google Ads generally have a limited lifetime (typically up to 90 days for conversion cookies). User-related data stored in Google Analytics is automatically deleted, or kept only in aggregated form, once the retention period configured in our Google account has elapsed. Otherwise, Google's own information is authoritative.
Objection and settings: In addition to the browser settings described in the "Cookies" section, you can object to or restrict the processing in particular as follows:
Every person can ask the controller whether personal data concerning them is being processed. You can direct your request to the contact details above.
The data subject receives the information required to assert their rights under the FADP and to ensure transparent processing.
In any case you will be informed of the following:
